Nominate a Book for the 2013-2014 Academic Year
Submissions will be accepted until Friday, November 30, 2012.
Recommended books should possess the following attributes:
- Appeal to young adults
- Address issues relevant to new college students
- Prompt inquiry, reflection, and discourse
- Differ from usual high school reading assignments
- Be available in paperback
- Lively/engaging reading (highly readable, not too long)
- Literary and/or well-written
- Multiple themes for discussion (technologies, ethics, teamwork, workplace, unusual career paths)
- A bridge between students and faculty
- Amenability to a follow-up programs (author visit, out-of-class activities, workshops, etc.)
