Associate in Agricultural Business

The associate degree in Agricultural Business helps prepare students for employment in commercial agriculture and businesses serving agriculture. The two-year program provides training in management, business organization, agricultural marketing, and sales to prepare students for the business aspects of careers. It also provides specialized training in technical agriculture appropriate for each of the options.

Because of the diversity of career paths to choose from, this major has five options:

general
crop production
livestock production
horticulture
food systems

The Berks Campus offers the first year of study for these five options. The second year of student in the agricultural business, crop production, and livestock production options must completed at University Park. The options in horticulture and food systems are completed at the Berks Campus. Studies vary with the option selected, allowing students to select a program to match a variety of career objectives.

The two-year associate degree is designed with many courses counting toward a minor in Agricultural Business Management and the four-year baccalaureate degree in several other majors in the College of Agricultural Sciences.
