During their first days on campus, our international students participate in our unique orientation program and activities to become acclimated to college life in the United States. Each student receives personal support and guidance from one of our international mentors as they learn about college life at Penn State Berks. Your mentor will assist you with filling out all of the required documentation, making sure your medical forms are properly submitted, and introduce you to the campus and community. You will find that we have a number of clubs and organizations geared specifically to international students; but many students opt to join one of our clubs focused on a particular interest or academic area.
Penn State Berks offer a vibrant, diverse community for international students. Students studying on our campus have come from countries such as Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Ecuador, France, Gambia, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Israel, Mexico, Morocco, Nigeria, Norway, Peru, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Venezuela and Zimbabwe.
We may be smaller in size, but the academic opportunities at Penn State Berks are large. International students might complete one of fifteen Baccalaureate degree programs right here at Penn State Berks. Or, they might begin the first two years of over 160 Penn State degree programs at Penn State Berks and transfer to the larger environment of University Park for the final two years.

Small Class Sizes
With an average class size of only 25 and a faculty to student ratio of 17.6 to 1, you'll enjoy the advantages of smaller class sizes and individual attention from faculty members. You might work side by side with a professor on important research, help to design devices useful to people with disabilities, or complete an internship at a local organization. The Perfect Location
Our students enjoy the resources of a Big Ten university in an idyllic Berks County setting where the rich opportunities of a world-class research university are offered in a small and supportive college environment. Our park-like location is only a one hour drive from Philadelphia and Harrisburg, 2.5 hours from New York City and 2.5 hours from University Park. The beautiful 241 acre campus provides an idyllic setting, nestled among rolling hills and tree-lined pathways, and conveniently located near shopping centers, malls, restaurants, theatres and entertainment options.
University-operated housing is available for 806 students on campus. Each of our two residence halls provides a study and television lounge. Rooms are furnished with single beds, dressers, desk, chairs, a microfridge (microwave-refrigerator-freezer unit), telephones with free local service, and optional cable TV access. Privately owned off-campus housing is available nearby.
