Penn State Berks provides options for adults interested in pursuing careers in accounting and financial services. The courses are offered in the evening and late afternoons to meet the needs of working adults.
Accounting focuses on the development and interpretation of financial information critical to managerial decision-making. The Accounting Option prepares students for a wide range of careers, including corporate controller, treasurer, budget director, auditor, tax planner, and consultant. The Accounting Option provides students with a foundation in intermediate accounting, managerial accounting, taxation, information systems, and auditing.
Financial Services Option
The Financial Services Option prepares students for careers in financial service organizations, banks, credit companies, real estate, and insurance brokerages. The Option also provides opportunity for students to pursue Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Awarded by the CFA Institute, the Chartered Financial Analysis credential is regarded as the gold standard of the investment profession. A limited number of competitive CFA Student Sponsorship Scholarships are available to senior students in the Financial Services Option at Penn State Berks.
