Camp Description:
Students will be introduced to the world of forensic science and will take a behind-the-scenes look at crime investigations and uncover a series of "who dunnits" using current forensic techniques. They will use molecular biology to examine DNA left behind at the crime scene and ID the culprit. Participants will have the chance to interact with scientists and investigators as they learn and perform experiments to help solve crimes.
Camp Overview*:
Monday - Welcome, using microscopes, hair analysis, evidence collection
Tuesday - Fingerprint lab, blood spatter pattern
Wednesday - Case of the lipstick smudge, crime scene unit, drug busted
Thursday - DNA analysis, detection of fluids
Friday - Crime solving game/microbe lab/wrap-up and certificates

Camp Details:
July 8-12
Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM
FEE: $385/Commuter or $675/Residential
As a commuter student, lunch is included in the enrollment fee. Residential participants will arrive Sunday afternoon and stay in the campus dorms. All meals and evening transportation are provided. There is an additional fee to participate in off site activities (approximately $50). Housing information will be sent in June to students choosing the residential option.
