Small class sizes and high interactivity
Enroll in Penn State's Professional Development Program for School Nurses. With a small class size, the course offers high interactivity in a condensed format at a location close to home. Individuals may satisfy Act 48 as well as Act 58 requirements.
Berks Campus Courses
Two courses are scheduled for this summer:
NURS 497C Autism Spectrum Disorders: Care Overview (1 credit)
June 27-28 (9AM - 5 PM) offered via the Video Learning Network. The class will be broadcast from University Park and connecting with two other Penn State locations.
NURS 407 Drugs of Abuse and Mental Health Issues (3 credits)
July 23-27 (9 AM - 3PM - web component) offered via the Video Learning Network. The class will be broadcast from University Park and connecting with Berks and two other Penn State locations.

Registration Information
Students should register at the campus they will attend class. For the Berks courses, complete the registration form and fax it to 610-396-6226 or send as an e-mail attachment to bjk23@psu.edu. If this is your first Penn State graduate course, you will also need to complete the nondegree graduate student application at www.gradsch.psu.edu/prospective/apply.html. Follow the instructions provided for non-degree applicants; be sure to choose "Nondegree Graduate" as your major. If you have questions about registering for the class, please call Bette Keeny at 610-396-6220.
These courses may also be taken as a noncredit option; please complete the registration form (PDF) and return it to the Berks Campus Continuing Education Office (fax - 610-396-6226).

Pennsylvania Act 48
Penn State is an Act 48-approved provider. Professional educators are encouraged to confirm that this program fits their school district's professional development plan for Act 48. Earn 15 college credit hours toward fulfilling Act 48 requirements by attending this entire program. Non-credit Option
For nurses who do not wish to earn graduate credit, a noncredit option is available at a reduced fee. All class sessions are the same; noncredit course assignments will vary from credit course assignments. A noncredit course cannot be converted to credit once the course has begun.
