Conference Scope
The 2006 International Conference on Telecommunication Systems - Modeling and Analysis will be held at the Penn State Berks Campus, Reading, PA, on Thursday, October 5, 2006 through Sunday, October 8, 2006. The conference will build on the tradition of the earlier conferences held at such prestigious universities as Vanderbilt and the Naval Postgraduate School. The objective is to advance the state of the modeling and analysis in telecommunications by stimulating research activity on new and important problems by both academics from universities across the world and industry practitioners. The conference is scheduled over a weekend to reduce teaching conflicts for academic participants and to enable participants to take advantage of weekend hotel and airfare rates.

Both finished papers and abstracts may be submitted and will be screened by the Program Committee to ensure the quality and applicability of presentations. Abstracts and papers should be submitted directly to Dr. Bezalel Gavish (gavishb2000@yahoo.com) or Dr. Michael Bartolacci (mrb24@psu.edu) who will handle their review for applicability to the conference and merit. Organized sessions are also welcomed and encouraged. Please submit any ideas or proposals for a group of related-topic presentations to Dr. Gavish or Dr. Bartolacci for approval. Social and cultural activities will be included in the 2006 agenda. The organizing committee is planning special events for this conference including a tour of the “Pennsylvania Dutch” Region and a dinner/event in Philadelphia.

The Program Committee is open to any ideas you might have regarding additional topics and welcomes submissions of undergraduate research and work by smaller institutions.  Potential participants should send by June 15, 2006 an abstract or a paper.. The technical program committee will evaluate the papers/abstracts, and a decision will be sent to the authors by June 30, 2006 with instructions for the final version of the paper, which is due by July 15, 2006. Full paper contributions will be considered for publication in the Telecommunication Systems Journal. Conference participants will be provided with the conference proceedings (a collection of papers/abstracts presented at the conference) Also, papers on wireless telecommunications topics will be considered for a special issue of the International Journal on Mobile Network Design and Innovation which will be edited by one of the local conference chairs, Michael R. Bartolacci.
