College offers smoking cessation program

Penn State Berks is helping faculty and staff to "kick the habit" with a tobacco cessation program, starting on September 14, 2011. The free 30-minute coaching sessions will be held in room 119,the Thun Library, on Wednesdays from 3:00–5:00 pm. Participants will also receive free nicotine patches or gum.
The goal of the program is to help participants develop a plan to quit smoking by changing their behaviors and habits, and learning to cope with urges. Cheryl Yates, MA, Master Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center, will assist participants in gaining the skills necessary to break a smoking addiction.
