The Great Election Debate on September 5
Before voters go to the polls, media outlets have shaped public opinion of the candidates. Are these media outlets obstacles to serious discussion of the issues? Two top media critics debate the media's crucial role in the 2012 campaign at Penn State Berks on Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at 7:30 p.m. in Perkins Student Center Auditorium. This event is free and open to the public.
Peter Hart is the activism director at Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting (FAIR). He writes for FAIR's magazine Extra, and is a co-host and producer of FAIR's syndicated radio show CounterSpin. He is also the author of The Oh Really? Factor: Unspinning Fox News Channel's Bill O'Reilly. Cliff Kincaid is the director of the Accuracy in Media Center for Investigative Journalism, sponsored by the conservative media watchdog organization AIM. He co-hosted CNN's Crossfire and worked for Oliver North, has written several books, and has made numerous television appearances.
