Penn State Berks Runner Earns All-Conference Honors
November 6, 2007 (Reading, PA) – Freshman Tom Wertman (Spring-Ford) was honored with 2nd Team NEAC All-Conference Honors as announced at the Cross Country Championships.
Wertman finished his freshman campaign finishing thirteenth at the NEAC Cross Country Championships held at Penn State Berks. Tom finished the 8K course in 32 minutes 51 seconds which was a minute faster than his time on the same course a month prior. Wertman saw steady improvement all season long with his best finishes coming at the Elizabethtown Invitational 6K race with a time of 22:43 and the Baptist Bible Invitational with a time of 30:55 seconds for the 8K course.
The men finished sixth at the NEAC Championships with a team score of 152.
