Back to Academic Literacy
What is meant by scientific literacy?  This question could probably never be defined because the sciences encompass so many different subjects from medical to the ozone layer.  Noone could ever be able to keep up on all the different sciences.

We could better say to be academically successful in the sciences we would have to learn how a scientist thinks and apply it to whatever science we happen to be concentrating on.  We would have to learn what is meant by theory, fact, hypothesis, etc.

What is important with the sciences is that we nail down the scientific process that we use to test and prove theories and facts.  Learning every branch of sciences would be impossible.  Science is more of a self taught type of course done through a process of discovery and interpretation.
