NCAA Division III - The 2008-2009 academic year will mark the first full year of NCAA Division III Membership for Penn State Berks Athletics. The athletic programs at Penn State Berks have completed the five year provisional process and have gained full membership into the prestigious NCAA D-III. As a result of this Penn State Berks is now eligible to compete in NCAA Championships which are held at the conclusion of each sport season.

 

Varsity Athletics - Penn State Berks offers twelve varsity athletic programs and competes as members of the North Eastern Athletic Conference. The NEAC is comprised of nine member institutions and in 2008 has added four associate members. This membership offers automatic qualifiers into the NCAA Tournament in the sports of: Men’s and Women’s Soccer, Women’s Volleyball, Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Baseball, Men’s Golf, Softball and Women’s Tennis.

Club Sports - The Berks campus also has a very active club sports program and intramural offerings. The club sports programs compete against outside institutions but have no affiliation with the NCAA or NEAC. This allows our students to compete in sports that are not offered on the varsity level. Our club offerings have a wide range of competition levels including our nationally recognized ice hockey program to our club volleyball program whose participation is at a local level. 

Club programs include:

  Men’s Volleyball

Intramural Athletics - The intramural programs complete the athletic offerings at Penn State Berks. Intramurals is a way for our campus community to compete on a recreational level while on campus. These programs are run throughout the year and consist of basketball, flag football, soccer and volleyball.
